Date Movie is clearly satirizing it's title: Date movies. It shows the humor in a stereotypical romantic comedy and parodies other movies too including Hitch, Bridget Jones Diary, Legally Blonde, the Lord of the Rings and more. Written by the same minds behind Scary Movie, it was expected to be a mildly funny poke at society and the movies that are currently being produced. I found it non-offensive as the likes of Scary Movie.

Satire and Shrek
The movie Shrek is a great example of satirical techniques as it parodies traditional fairy tales. It follows the ogre Shrek who is disturbed by a quest to retrieve his beloved swamp back from the hands of Lord Farquaad. Shrek also involves real fairy-tale characters such as Cinderella, Pinocchio, Snow White and more. It clearly does not cross the line as it is a children's film, however it demonstrates satire quite well.
Scary Movie Satirizes Scary Movies
Scary Movie is an extremely popular film that has resulted in three other sequels. It's spoofing the actual horror movie Scream. The sequels follow to poke fun at movies such as The Ring, Signs and The Sixth Sense. The jokes performed in these movies are a great example of satire as their humor is not too offensive. It does have elements of crudeness as Scary Movie does take shots at the mentally ill, homosexuals and even African-Americans but it really doesn't cross the line in my opinion.

The Crude Satire of South Park
South Park is without a doubt the funniest television show of modern society. It has strong aspects of satire in it's episodes, ranging from everything to political issues to ridiculous reality stars and everything in between. It's humor is so blatantly crude that many people thought it should be taken off the air. Some issues it does cross the line, but in a way it humors even the darkest of situations which can have a positive effect on people's outlooks, despite it's crudeness.
Colbert Report: Funny or offensive?
For years, the Colbert Report on Comedy Central has been highly praised for it's fairly hilarious portrayal of Stephen Colbert as a right wing news reporter. He satirizes a right wing commentator that you might find newscasting on Fox. He makes fun of Republicans while he is actually a Democrat. He clearly is over-exaggerating how Republicans act, implying that they are intolerant and stubborn. Though he is really only teasing, many people take offense to his jokes.
